Phone Recording For Special Education Teachers
As a Special Education Teacher it is getting more and more difficult for me to keep track of what needs to be done and who said what for a particular child. As I was browsing on the internet I happen read about Telephone Recorders and how phone recording have helped people in business.
My curiosity was aroused so I decided to investigate further. There are a lot of phone recorders out there that caters to all your needs. I have also learned that there are great features that would be a great help to me especially as a Special Education Teacher.
The first feature that I like is that it is handy. I can carry it around me and even place it in my pocket. If I needed to remember what the OT and I have agreed about what to put in the IEP all I have to do is review and listens to the phone recording that I have of our telephone conversations. You must be wondering how this can be done. It is quiet simple really the phone recorder will record both sides of the conversation. So you can listen to your questions and hear the answers of the OT as if he is just there beside you. This devise helps me to be more accurate and to lessen the chances of mistakes.
Second, I help me focus on one child at a time. How you may ask? Well there is a feature in the phone recorder that allows me to add more recordings to a particular file without destroying the original. This would allow me to keep records far longer than necessary. It will not be difficult for you to separate each child and at the same time monitor the progress of the child. This can be done by recording your conversations with the Developmental Pediatrician who will help you assess the liabilities of the child as well as the progress of the child.
Third, the phone recordings are easy to download. You can download it from the recorder to your PC with a few easy steps. It can even be saved in a wav file. Saving these files on disk will also help you and your school to keep records for each child. As the IEP is a legal tender, meaning that if you cannot implement the IEP fully and that the IEP you have made is without parents consent then you can be sued legally. For your protection and that of your school, keeping accurate records is to your advantage.
Fourth and for me the best feature is that it is digital so that means you can play it again and again without worrying that you will destroy its’ quality. You can even listen to it while searching for other phone recording. These features that I have mentioned are just some of the ways that phone recorders will be able to help us Special Education Teachers. As you use it more and more you will discover that it really is your secret tool.
