A Phone Recorder To Protect Yourself in a Divorce

Filed under: Electronic parts — @ 3:55 pm

No matter which side of a divorce you are on, you will need to protect yourself from false accusations and other wrong turns that can turn an otherwise amicable divorce into a sour, bitter affair. A phone recorder can give you lots of proof and leverage.

One way to protect yourself is to attempt to only communicate through your attorneys or written correspondence and don’t use email. It’s too immediate and you may wind up responding in the heat of anger in a very in appropriate manner that will be used against you at a later date.

Another way to ensure that nothing is misinterpreted, misconstrued or outright lied about in court is to make an audio record of your phone conversations. A phone recorder used to be a rather complex affair to hook up but no more; now most are powered by digital microchip technology and are actually just plug and play. Many phone recorders are tiny in comparison to their cousins of the past and some are no larger than a standard disposable lighter. Best of all, most of the digital phone recorders of today come with cell phone adapters so you can record conversations from both your land line as well as cell phone calls. This will ensure that everyone stays above board in the divorce proceedings and no one gets misunderstood.

If your ex seems to know every move you’re making you may have some issues such as a bug in your home which can be found out very quickly through the use of a bug detector. A bug detector is a hand held device that will look for frequencies that a bug would put off. You may also check the back of your PC for a keystroke logger, your antivirus or spyware killer programs in all likelihood won’t catch one.  Another common tactic is that your ex may be reading your email or listening to your voice mail. If you haven’t taken the time already, change all your passwords to your online banking, home phone for remote message pick up, cell phone message passwords, email and online access. And make your new password something your ex would never guess such as a combination of your mother’s middle or maiden name and your own month and year birth date.

Protect yourself during your divorce with a phone recorder, no matter how amicable it can seem - things can turn ugly quickly - make sure that your best interests and personal information are protected from prying eyes and ears.
